About Willow Glen

Tucked just southwest of downtown San Jose, Willow Glen began as a farming community along Los Gatos Creek in the “Valley of Heart’s Delight,” where orchards and canneries defined early life. Incorporated as its own city in 1927 and annexed to San Jose in 1936, it grew into a distinctive streetcar suburb with a cozy downtown on Lincoln Avenue. Today, Willow Glen is known for its tree-lined streets, historic homes (Craftsman, Spanish Revival, Tudor, and mid-century), strong neighborhood schools, and beloved traditions—like its festive holiday lights—that keep a small-town spirit alive in the heart of Silicon Valley.
